2nd place for my shooting

This is the second place that I would like to have my shooting at..

It's my grandpa's house and I use one of the room to act like 

"the place where the main character being locked"

It's a nice setting and am going to cover the windows with newspaper from outside

so that it cover the light. 

but..

the problem is,

how am i gonna have lighting in the room itself. 

There's one fluorescent light. but i don think it's enough.

So, what can I do? 

Consultation with "zui" and "joan"

I've actually planned all my schedule well 

I've got all my actors and set those dates for shooting..
also finish shots in one of the location..

Unfortunately, after consultation with ZUI ...
found out that the real video shooting is wasn't like what I've expected. 
I need more equipments and more planning on shots.

He told me that I definitely need lighting.
The video or movie I usually seen is dark but during the real shooting they have lots of lights. If without light, the ISO will boost up and creates lot of noise. It's IMPOSSIBLE to shoot without lighting.

Besides..he said it's hard for me to cover all the light.. there will still have some light leaks in..
So, he suggested me to have more close up shots..
and those close up shots maybe can take in other place such as "THE ONE" ...
then long shots will be at school..but not that much.. Some more, for some of the long shot actors doesn't really have to be at the place. 
Therefore, this also solve the problem of "actors' time not matching".

In addition, Zui commented that my audio has too many noise, not clear enough.
He said not all the time can use boom mic. 
I should let the actor use CLIP ON MIC during the shooting
and use boom mic for the surrounding sound or sound effect such as door slam, footsteps...

So overall..conclusion,
I've to reshoot,
and replan the setting and audio.

measuring places

Here's a measurement that I've did in the school componud. 

I was planning to block the light with some black clothes, newspaper and cardboard.

This place I would make the character hide beside the cupboard when the bad character looking for her.

Here's when we give options to the user whether the character should go down the staircase or straight

and after that they should turn left or right..

It's the corridor that I love so much..but it's hard to cover all of them with black clothes or newspaper..

I found this small room which they usually place pail stuffs in it.

A nice place for the main character to hide inside while the evil one passby outside..

first shooting on sunday, 10.11.2013

Finally started my shooting after two months preparation. 

haha! But i guess it's around 1 month preparation as I rest a lot during the first month break :)

Anyway, after the abandoned building being rejected by sweii, I took my saturday off and start shooting at Vanessa's house (one of my actress). 

Initially I planned to finish both tarc and house scene within a day..but it's not as easy as what I thought.

Just few second scene took us more than 30 mins to finish.

Therefore, ended up we only finish one small part by today and gonna shoot at TARC on the other day.

This is our first scene which shows how both of the roommates meet with each other.

Although I've planned the dialogue but while this shooting is carry on..

I have to modify the dialogue so that the actress feel comfortable and smooth..

So we keep changing and changing.

I tried with different angle on the spot and I guess it's one of the reason why my shoting took so long time.

There's this scene which Vanessa invited the girls to party..So when she opened the door, 

she needs to show an excited facial expression

and yeah, she did well in terms of expression..

but sometime the angle wrong or even she said the wrong things, 

so she has to repeat and repeat saying the same words, doing the same action

and slowly..she gets tired and it's harder to get a nice shot from her.

Ended up, we finished around 5pm++ ...because it's indoor..the sunlight is getting lesser..

so we've to finish everything before 6pm.

And now, it's done for the hostel scene.

Perfect! 

primary school ( STBM )

Finally, I found another place for my shooting which is a primary school nearby my place.

The reason I chose to shoot in a school its because there're many corridors ...

and staircase which have the mood that I wanted to..

Unfortunately, there're no rooms that can be used because there are too many stuffs in all the classes..

In order to use them, I have to cover with all the walls with clothes and newspaper

and at the same time move out the chairs and tables..

It's gonna be quite troublesome.

I really love their staircase 

They've few staircase in the school.

Corridor is the main reason why I chose a school..

I can't think of any places that have corridor like this. 

So I'll definitely use this as one of the place in my shooting :)

Yeap..and the best part is,

the penolong kanan allowed me to have my fyp shooting here just with some simple information letters.

found new place for shooting

So far, I've tried my best to look for a strategic and a safer abandoned building for my shooting.
This is because I still prefer a real abandoned area for my shooting ...
Then, I got this place. It's nearby jalan kuching..

The staircase is creepy enough.

They have those corridors that I wanted for my short film..

They have lots of rooms like this in that building..

So I can just choose any room that is more clean for my shooting..

It seems like an abandoned flat but there're similar buildings around there with residents.

And it is facing the street, so it's more safer.

Conclusion, I will use this place for my video.
