api speech control

there's this API Speech Control that allows us to set certain word/term function as the

Allows us to set certain term/word and connect to Dreamweaver, set as a function and work as a button, to trigger the video.

Unfortunately, there's a mic icon and also few blank space to show the words they've detected and also the word we set to trigger.

All these icons and blanks would most probably spoilt the user experience.

We have few solutions to solve it..First of all, is to create a frame to cover the video and also the mic icon...

or to make certain "box" with html to cover the white blank and leave a small mic

However, tis is only for submission purpose. For exhibition wise, I might think of other way such as cover a black physical frame at the computer screen.. So that user wont get to see the mic icon but it's still planning stage... =)

Anyway, there's another limitation also as the term/word that speaks out have to be in certain tone because this has been set in the data base. Therefore during presentation, I've to look for a person to act as my user and before that I've to train her with the tone.

After all, I've chose this as my final execution method.

Last shooting DONE

Finally, I've finished my last shooting of this video!!!!! 

We started around 12 something and tried our best to rush cause there're quite some scene that we need to shoot by today

and it's not an easy one..

require certain acting skill and some dialogue..

Before the actual shooting, we try out lil bit..

Unfortunately, we have not enough time..

Even some of the shots are not really good, but I've to stop them and proceed to the next scenes..

So no choice, those scene that I've not enuf time to shoot in TOA..I've to just simply get a place (Staircase/corridor) to shoot..eventhough there's no special lighting..

Everything have to be done in post production.

Anyway, finally I've done with this.

- color correction for memories -

Finally I've done the part that require this 3 girls to be together ..

First of all is the memories part,

there're some parts that I would show some of the memories so that the audience would be more clear about the background story..

Initially, I edited the color to be more vivid..but then I realize some of the movies they actually made the "memories scene" to sepia..

so that audience could differentiate those scenes are "past tense" ...

So here I've a more sepia type of color..

"Voiceattack"

voice attack is a software that able to link with adobe flash and use voice control to trigger certain button /video. 

However, we have to train the voice to trigger and it has to be only one person.

The bad part is in order to use this software I would have to crack it with another programme name "RunAsDate" 

So here's some screenshots I've taken.

I've to fill in the blanks and at the end click on the "Create Desktop Shortcut" then its done.

In future if the "VoiceAttack" expired I would just have to open "RunAsDate" and key in the same Date/Time then I can reuse this programme.

So here's the VoiceAttack. 

Unfortunately after this "VoiceAttack" expired and I used back the same way, key in the same date/time into RunAsDate but still couldn't use this programme. 

Therefore I've to continue look for another software for my fyp.

final interface design

Finally I came out with my interface design.. but I'll looks more complete with the well-edited video.

more researches for interface design

So I look for more references for my interface design again..and I found out that I kinda like this three pictures which they have this "low opacity round shape" as the base and typo in it.

I think it's kinda "modern" and "simple".

Compare to those traditional video player's solid frame or solid button... I personally think this kind of low opacity shapes and typography would be more interesting. Less bored. 

So here I got some of the references on TYPOGRAPHY.

After all, I've decided to play with typography on the options part of my video. 

Then I've list out my options part that require "interface design".

1- answer phone call ( to inform user that they should answer the call )

2- whose problems ( choose between meizhen & vanessa )

3- turn left/right ( at corridor after all the flash back )

4- start again ( small ending after meizhen found simyee )

5- up/down ( staircase part during escape )

6- Ending ( Do you want to be my next roommate? )

problems occur..

I was suppose to finish the primary shots by today with "sim yee"

Unfortunately, something happened. The penolong kanan of that primary school suddenly appeared and stop me from shooting.

Everything is quite complicated but the conclusion is I've to reshoot some of the scenes that suppose to be completed by simyee..

At the same time, I'm running out of time now... I'm suppose to finish most of the shooting by December..
Now I've to like extend my shooting again.

It's really a big trouble for me.

PS : Gonna figure out the schedule and book TOA's place for shooting.

Finally, my actress is back and we continue the "hide under table" scene..
I think is fine.
but I still face problems,
such as..
the expected angle not really working well.. looks kinda funny and weird.
So, I kept trying on different angles and this took me quite long time..

Besides, I've only my actress and "me" for today shooting..
So I tried to place the light on the chair or floor, hopefully I'll get the lighting I want.

weekend shooting with MeiZhen a.k.a may ( 14 & 15.12.2013

So today we've some reshoot and staircase scenes of MeiZhen :)

and she brought us a new helper, her sister who is also from TOA. 

She helped us to carry the lighting (helpful^^)

So basically this is how the staircase looks like during shooting.

I sticked newspaper to cover the sunlight and it looks much more darker in video mode.

So this is my "mini lighting" :D

So this is the corridor scene where SimYee hide under the table and MeiZhen went in and look for her :)

I randomly arrange all the tables and chairs so that they looks messy and being abandoned... then use the newspaper again to cover the sunlight. At the same time, use black cloth to be the background so the entire place gonna be as dark as possible. 

This seriously involves lot of hard work of my crew (only 1 crew :'( ). I'll show more detail on how she put the cloth on in my next post. 

So besides that, I hung another black cloth in the classroom..so that it blocks the sunlight from the classroom to the corridor. 

Again, the main purpose is just to make the corridor darker. 

And here's another blocking. 

So overall, it looks like this!!!!!! Blocked the whole corridor. 

Again, I would like to say it's not easy for two people to do all this and there's not only 1 corridor scene in this story. We've to set few of them. 

So this picture shows more clearly how my crew set up the newspaper. She needs to stand on the table when comes to the other side. *dangerous*

There's one scene that we had some problems with "no electricity" on the entire 4th floor...
Then, we smartly connect the electricity from 3rd floor to 4th floor with 3 extension. 

Again, she did lot of set up thingy.. helps alot.

This scene is when my protagonist, SimYee hide in the room and MeiZhen appeared.. =)

So, we'll definitely have some fun time during the video shoot...so that everyone won't get too stressful and bored :)

experiment on interface design

In terms of interface design I would like to have simple typography design instead of any traditional shapes and squares frame. 

I would have text overlay on the video and have simple animation as well. 

For example, when the protagonist ask for help.. I'll add in some texts like "answer call" or "help her"..so that the user know what they should do when comes to certain stage.

Besides, when comes to options..there will be some texts as well. 

=)

This is just some draft, simple one.

I've made a few sec ones..with simple text animation. 

The problem of this is ..when long video import into adobe flash, the audio and visual will kinda move separately. So this happens to my video and I'm asking Joanne for solution. :)
