idea pitching

- 5 similar things to what you are thinking about - both direct and indirect associations, name them, sow their covers, or an image from them, you are saying 'it will be like this...'

don't judge too quickly
video

it's our senior work which they allow user to interact with the flash
at the same time leave message /comment about the video and content

child abuse
Similar like commercial poster

What is a browser?
interview.

- 4 sources of inspiration ( music, poetry, film, game, novel ) that are in play when you think about this idea

tDon

Hot and Young Punk Rock Amputee
From what we seen on this cover we know that this person got no hands.
Then, we might start thinking her life might be quite difficult...
have to go through stuffs to continue her life.
But don't judge it until u watch the video.

judge too quickly

Don't judge a book by it's cover ( thankyou Allah to be Muslim )
People usually judge a person by their appearance, first impression, news had been spreading around, environment...etc.

- 3 'heroes' who you associate with the work you are doing

http://it-ebooks.info/read/713/

- 2 'theories' that are of relevance

susan benett
- don't judge a book by it's cover

jeff goins writer
- yes, we do judge a book by it's cover.
- if you're a book self-published author, i've a bad news for you : Your book is being judged by it's cover.

- 1 'issue' you are ware of that will be involved in the making ...(skills, knowledge, resources ....)

- I think the main issue is that I'm not really good in coding and I wish to involve database in this project so worry that I might have problem with the back end part.

Research on medium

sour mirror website

Image above is sour mirror's landing page.

Image below is a flash

infinite OZ
This is consider as a flash website???
The flash/video will keep on repeating.

This is an interesting website where we can shuffle different faces.
We can change their eyes, nose, mouth, head and shoulder.
Then we can see a girl's eyes on a guy's face.

It's a website which has 3 stages of video and at the middle of the stage,
they'll stop down for us to interact with the buttons.
We can choose to "change view" of the rocket too.

It's a "mood" website which you get to adjust many stuffs so that the website is nearer to your real mood.
Then when you click on the "refresh stream" button,
the background flash would changed.

Flash

- site with lots of flash video

It's a simple flash player which involve rollover and click.
I think the most interesting part is the sound which quite match with the animation.
Unfortunately, nothing special about the interactive part which I can consider about.

It's another flash which only involve clicking and the character would dance differently.

Nothing special. The only different thing is that they control the lips with keyboard.

Okay..another nothing special.
Just clicking the subject,
and the boss will answer the question.

Basically this flash player is like certain software..

short survey that I've carried out

In few hours time,  I had carried out a survey with 10 people.

My questions :

1. If you see a picture which there's a guy holding a knife pointing at a girl and his face shows a fierce expression. What would you think of ?

2. Let's say I tell you this real story behind is totally unlike what you're thinking of or your assumption. Would you interested to view a video clip which explain everything?

3. If there are more similar pictures and videos at the same time, will you continue watch all of them?

and there are some questions I asked some of them, not all.

1. What makes you feel curious or interested to finish the video or continue proceed?

2. Will you think that few videos are too much for you?

Result

Out of 10 people, 9 of them give me similar answer.

1.

Finally, an idea.

So here's my idea.

message :
- don't judge a book by it's cover / don't judge

product :
- maximum 4 videos
- 1 minute plus per video
- cover picture/poster of the particular video ( Image grab from the video )
- interactive flash player/ youtube/ website
- place where user get to comment something else
- short video clips show ppl commenting about the poster or videos ( still under planning )

So basically, my video and poster will be like this. The moment you see the cover of this video, you'll definitely think of something else.
But things that you see might not be true,
you'll find out the true story once u watch the video.

Therefore my cover picture of the video or so called poster will grab from certain scene in the video clip so they'll look more relates.

Opening :
If possible, for the opening I wish to do a short video clip.
I'll interview people in the around/in the school with those cover picture.
Ask for their first impression/assumption when they see the picture.

* option * then they will post up their comments on a space provided.

Then, this opening indirectly instruct the audience/user to do the same thing.

After opening :
Another short video/flash will be played right after the comment part.

Main message of this video  : Are you sure they're like what you think of? Don't judge.

This message will raise user's curiosity. My point is to make the user watch my first video and they'll continue with the rest.
However, each of the video only takes around one minute plus or less than that. So, user won't get bored by long videos.

Let's continue with some of the videos I found through youtube. :)

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

This is another type of video which 2 guys interview people in a mall with 2 different appearance which are expensive clothing and inexpensive clothing.
The result shows that most of the people involve in the interview when the boys are with expensive and presentable clothing.

Don't judge a book by it' cover

This might not help much in this assignment but I think it's a good video to go through.

don't judge a book with its cover (thankyou Allah to be Muslim)
So, this might be a commercial that conveying the same message. :)

Message from me :

Im thinking is it possible for me to do another flash player or website which contains few videos.
I'll shoot that video by myself and pick some of the scene as cover picture of that particular video clip.
People will usually misunderstood when they look into that picture,
but there's actually a story of that picture which shows in the video.

Idea again. week 4.

im planing can I do something like documentary .
video
show ppl this message?

don't judge too quickly ( best 1 )

I think this is awesome! :D haha ~

They have lots of short story/video ...and all of them bring out the message they wanted to deliver :)

Don't Judge Too Quickly 4

After watching some similar video clips found out that they are actually commercial and I think is quite awesome if I come out with video like this with interaction.
Am I right?

Don't judge too quickly

I think this is funny too. In another way.

My Story. Dont Judge People for What They Look Like!

I found out that there are actually more videos similar to this in youtube.
They tell out their own story and give advices..
When I watch it, I feel so touch and sorry for them and I definitely think that this gonna inspire me to something else.

Besides, video above is all about a boy who judge his mother's friend because he knew the guy was a gay but after knowing him for sometime, he was getting closer to the guy. After the guy pass away, the boy felt regret and sad therefore he took this video and throw out this message to everyone.

You Know My Name Not My Story

Now here's another video again about a girl name sami who gone through lots of difficulties and finally she became a better person.
Therefore she came out with this video delivering a message that "you know my name, not my story".
I think is kinda similar to my message too. Besides, it's another similar video to the above one.

Islamic Reminder:Do Not Judge A Person By The Way They Look

I guess this is some kind of commercial for islamic reminder.
Just 1:14 mins video clip and it brings out the message. I think I love this kind of video..

Wondering can I make an interactive video?
Is it too simple???

Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover (school project)

Haha. It's an interesting school project video which convey the same message as mine :)
